IPK has supported around 30 projects from the local partners.

Projects in 2003

• Multhi-ethnic Women library
  • IPK supported the opening of the first women multi-ethnic library in the multi-ethnic women center "Women of 21 century". The library was fully equipped and 5000 books were bought on local and international languages.
    
    

Projects in 2004

• "Lets continue the way of understanding" project implemented by Citizen Association "Trust" Kumanovo

  • The project aimed to train primary and secondary schoolchildren, teachers and parents in 12 schools in Kumanovo in the field of mediation and non-violent conflict resolution within schools. After the trainings the students were actively involved in conflict resolution of problems within schools.
    

• "Your voice is your future" (May - September 2004)

  • Project by 3 women NGOs: "Kumanovka", "Kolo na srpski sestri", "Association of Albanian Women in Macedonia"" in the Municipalities of Kumanovo, Lipkovo, Staro Nagoricane, Klecovce i Orasac
    The project activities consisted of organizing tribunes in 8 villages and 4 in the city of Kumanovo where the population is mixed. The tribunes were held on topics: For equity in decision making process, Prejudices and stereotypes in the women and using the own right to vote.
    The second part of the project was training with the women candidates for the members of the council (30-35). The foreseen topics were: appearance in front of the public, communication techniques, techniques and strategies for negotiation, leadership, running public work and contacts with the media.

• Multi-ethnic folklore festival "Jekipe" (Unity) -Project by the Ensemble of Roma Folk Songs and dances "Rusit Sakir" in Kumanovo (June 2004)

  • This event included participants from 7 folklore groups (Macedonian, Roma and
    Albanian group coming from Kumanovo and Lipkovo, Vlach, Bosnian and Serbian group coming from Skopje, Turkish group coming from Bitola in the final manifestation). The event lasted 2 days (26 and 27 June) and was consisted of exhibition of old pictures, defile through the city and final manifestation. In the evening all groups gave music/dancing performance in the Center of Culture. Afterwards a small party took place for all the participants in the festival.
    The Mayor of Kumanovo, Minister of Culture and the Dutch Ambassador in Macedonia were present during the evening performance.
    

• "Let's give a hand to those that are different from us" -Association for care and protection of people with handicap "Humanost"

  • The project started in an educational centre for 200 people from different ethnic background and who have a handicap. The Centre organized different kinds of workshops: educational, social, creative, recreational and medical (preventive and curative protection). The activities were held in the already existing Centre for the handicap.
    The participants came from different ethnic background and all activities were interactive.

• "We want Green and Clean", Organization for Albanian intellectual women (September 2004)

  • The project started with the ecological action in Kumanovo and Lipkovo area, where the high school students cleaned the yard of the schools and planted trees inside the school yard. The plants were a gift from the municipality. The action was very successful and during the action t-shirts with IPK- logo were given to the participants. Posters were put in the wall of the school and the city.

• "Lets learn the religion of our friend", Youth Alliance of Kumanovo

  • Because of the problems of the youth in Macedonia, especially in Kumanovo the problems in the school, Youth Alliance in Kumanovo decided to implement a project connected to different religions and with that to connect people from Orthodox and Muslims religion. The content of the project was to visit churches and mosques with children of primary schools (different ethnic backgrounds) and to give them professional explanations of the differences in religions.
    

• "Bridges of Love" Community Information Centre Kumanovo

  • This project included the children from the Collective centres and socially poor families. New Year packages were distributed and a New Year program was organizes for them.

• "Basket ball tournament"

  • anew year sport event organized by the Gymnasium "Goce Delcev" Kumanovo - a sport event for high school pupils from the Gymnasium (Macedonian and Albanian classes). The partcipants got t-shirts and the winners got the pear and basketballs.

• Youth multi-ethnic radio program organized by Roma Community Center "Drom" -Kumanovo

  • The projects aimed to create a youth multi-ethnic space in the media, inform the public about the common problems of the young people from different national groups, and to "mobilize" a new radio-journalist cadre. It also contributed to exceed stereotypes and intolerance among the young people from the different ethnic communities
    The project activities consisted of 2 parts: training of 30 secondary school journalists (Macedonian/Albanian/Roma/Serb) and realization of the radio program. The radio was broadcasted on Macedonian and Albanian language (Radio Bravo in Macedonian and Radio Albana in Albanian) every Saturday and Sunday for duration of 1,1/2 hour.
    

• Creative workshop with children with mental handicap "Making New Years Decorations for the classrooms and the school", Primary School "Braca Miladinovci"
  • Last week of the December was a very happy week for the mental handicap children of primary school" Braca Miladinovci " because of IPK help in decorating the classrooms and helping them to organize different activities .
    On 21 December IPK team together with some activists of IPK met the ethnic-mixed group of children and gave the material for the workshop, which made them very happy, when they got the material and start making the decorations for New Year. December 22 was the day when the children showed their decorations, cards and decorated their classrooms, and also with their teachers they decorate the New Year tree.

Projects in 2005

• DIFFERENCES ARE TREASURE, NGO "Clas Biling"

  • With this project the students had a direct opportunity to see different facilities, learn about different culture, religious customs. They had an opportunity to ask different questions and to expand their knowledge. This project managed to animate the school youth in a way that it showed them that they should know more about the cultures that are different from their own. The benefit they had from this project was an opportunity to learn something about the culture, religious customs and tradition of the other.
    

• ETHNICA, YAK

  • ETHNICA, a group of young enthusiastic singers have decided with the support of IPK to join their forces and create something new, something unique for everybody. It was called equality - a CD with 5 new songs. The word equality means that every single person's opinion was taken into consideration. There was equal amount of boys and girls, equal amount of rappers, rockers, pop singers and every one of them had the equal desire to succeed in their dream of becoming a star.
    The promotion was a huge success and the caf? in the shopping center Garnizon was too small to gather everyone. The singers had interesting live acts and the audience equally welcomed the new Kumanovo stars regardless of their backgrounds

• CULTURAL PROGRAMME FROM YAK

  • Design and management workshop, YAK
    YAK and IPK organized a two day seminar for project management. The lectures were held in the high school Goce Delcev in Kumanovo by members of the PEACE CORP USA. The seminar included lectures about: needs assessment visioning, project goals and objectives, how to make action plans, sustainability, how to deal with risks, to monitor and evaluate, budgets (how to approach donors) and to manage the whole process (professionalism).

• Rock Concert, YAK

  • On the 19 August 2005 in front of the old sport hall Sokolana located at the edge of the Sokolana Park Youth Alliance Kumanovo and Interethnic Project Kumanovo organized a rock festival. According to the crowds and the rock fans' internet networks this was the best rock amateur festival in Kumanovo.

• Classical Music Evening, YAK
  

  • On the 16 June 2005 in the concert hall of the "Pance Pesev" music school (one of the few multiethnic educational institutions in Kumanovo) YAK and IPK organized a concert of classical music. There were around 60 guests from the city NGOs, YAK volunteers and others.12 compositions were performed by 14 people from different ethnic and religious background.

• Food and Fashion, YAK
  

  • A unique event of presentations of new models and traditional food organized by YAK members. Around 100 people were present on this one evening event.

• Kokino Project, Explorers society "Tumba"Kumanovo

  • During this project, there were several activities including: youth camp where the youngsters from different ethnicities learned about the locality and the importance of the cultural heritage, volunteerism supporting activities for cleaning the locality of litter, installing direction for the visitors, making paths to the site… One of the most important activities was publishing quality, four lingual brochures, as well as leaflets for wider tourist presentations. The public promotion of the propaganda material was followed by great media interest.
    

• The wizard of OZ -theatre plays, Multhi-ethnic women association "Ljinda" Kumanovo
  

  • A group of 10 children coming from 2 Primary Schools in Kumanovo from Macedonian and Albanian ethnicity were trained to perform this popular theatre play for children "The wizard of Oz". The first phase of the project included audition and selection of the children. Than the selected ones were trained by professional actors to play the roles. The final phase was the presentation of the theatre play to all primary schools in Kumanovo. The effects from the theatre play were obvious: a multhi-ethnic group of children succeeded to make a performance together; the theatre play itself gave a contribution to the poor cultural life in Kumanovo; the publicity and the popularity of the play itself was obvious, it was shown for the Primary school children 3 times.
    

• Women without violence, NGO "Florence Najtingel"

  • The aim of this project was to get more information's about the violence problem, especially women trafficking, because of the analytical character of the project. During the project there was made an analysis of the situation and get information's about the level of their knowledge in this field. The results of the analysis are at IPK archive who were compare with the thinking during the workshops and tribunes and that indicate that people have a big lack of information's. After the analysis, 5 workshops were held for young population and 2 workshops for women, 5 tribunes in primary and secondary school.
    

• Multiethnic teenage festival, Culture and art association "Multiart" Kumanovo

  • In order to improve the cultural life in Kumanovo and encourage multiethnic cultural events and happenings, IPK decided to support the Teen fest show project. The project was implemented by experienced music pedagogues, who organized multi-ethic teenage modern song festival. The young people expressed big inertest for participating in the festival, and after the public audition, 21 singers were selected. The final event was organized on 23rd of December 2005 and it was open by the mayor of Kumanovo. Every participant sang on his native language, followed by dancer group
    

• Poetry evenings, Ensemble for Roma songs and dances "Rusit Sakir"

  • In the frames of the project a multi-ethnic poetry night was organized for the first time in the Kumanovo city. The aim was to promote young non exposed talents from all ethnic groups to the wider public and to contribute to our multi-ethnic culture. 24 Poets, among which 12 were known and 12 new wrote their poems and presented it to the public of Kumanovo.

• Club for accepting of children with mental disability, Roma educational centre "Future" Kumanovo

  • This project was aiming to reach socialization and integration on the persons with intellectual disabilities in the society and rising of social conscience of other citizens. A vide group of low and medium disabled children from different ethnicities attended this project. For their daily activities they were organized in a club, guided by professionals.

• Youth exhibition, Gymnasium Goce Delcev

  • The Youth Office of the gymnasium organized a youth multi-ethnic exhibition on the occasion of the Day HIV prevention with aim to raise the awareness about this current problem. IPK supported a very small amount to cover the costs for framing of the pictures.

• Clear city -healthy life, YAK

  • With this project IPK support YAK in realizing their idea about education of 60 young people for better conditions and healthy life. They clean wild landfill with garbage in streets of Kumanovo and also city's park. They also make an evidence of old cars who are destroying the look of the city and sticking the stickers on them with an message" YOUR CAR-MONSTER FOR THE CITY" The action was very successful with a big visibility.
    

• 16 Days action against family violence, NGO "SOS" Kumanovo

  • IPK supported a 2 days seminar "16 Days action against family violence". Participants were 30 representatives from 3 High School from Kumanovo in which the participants were informed about the forms and ways of prevention from family violence. On a higher level this seminar contributed to creating a better approach for treating this problem from the local institutions and the NGO sector.

• Multi-ethnic happening, YAK

  • Because of New Year, Christmas and Kurban Bajram celebration, IPK supported YAK in organizing a humanitarian concert in the square of the city. The concert was attended by a lot of people, young and old and it was a big fresh for the people before the celebrations.
    Mountain Day, Mountaineering association "Kozjak" Kumanovo
    On the occasion of the World Mountain Day, IPK supported promoting activity for this day. The promotion included introduction to the public with extreme sports like alpinism, mountaineering, orientation and cave research As these sports are not so popular for the Kumanovo youth population IPK supported these initiative with aim to attract more young people to this kind of sport activities. The event also included a small excursion to Matka mountain camp where the participants could follow the practical training for these sport activities.

• New Year Celebration, Community Information centre Kumanovo
  • IPK supported New Year Celebration event for children from Internally Displaced families and socially poor families. The activities included: creative workshop, small exhibition and New Year party with Santa who gave them New Year Packages. With this project around 400 children were included.
    

Projects in 2006

• Together against violence and trafficking

  • Camping for increasing conscience for problem for violence and trafficking. Young people from high school, teachers and citizens were participated in workshops where they learned more about the violence problem, especially women trafficking. Project was realized from Florens Nejtingel

• Ecology world day

  • A group of 30 children from Macedonian and Albanian ethnicity participle in this project. During the project there was defile and 50 posters ware sticked in the town.

• Course for tailing and sewing

  • With this project are expected the result of 30 women that will gain qualitative training from the sphere of tailing and sewing. Their training directly to be accepted in employment in private or self business or at least their training to use for the needs of their families .The course will be realized during 3 month period. The project was realized from NGO "Baran".

• Human rights in inter-ethnic community

  • IPK supported workshops about human rights. 30 young people participated in the project. Project was implemented by NGO NRC.

• How mach you know about me

  • During the project was published prospectus about habits from birth to death in Orthodox and Muslim religions. Project was realized from NGO ICZ-Kumanovo.

• Silence is not gold

  • There ware workshops about "Reasons and consequences from family violence" and "Family violence and human rights". This project was realized from NGO Femina-Kumanovo.

• Multiethnic mountaineering school

  • The aim of this project was young people to learn about mountaineering and pot-holing. During the project there was one day excursion to Matka. Participants got certificates of the and on the trairning. Procject was realized from Mountaineering association "Kozjak", Kumanovo.

• All of us under same sun
  • In this project participated 28 young people. During the project ware hold seminars about education and peace. At the end of this project participants gained enough information, knowledge and skills about other religions, and comunication without violance.The procject was realized from NGO CRZ Drom.
